Our philosophy

Since forming in 2013 Hey Happiness has been striving to bring more positivity and happiness into your every day, by creating beautifully designed, high quality jewelry that lifts your mood or makes a loved one smile. We believe happiness creates happiness and if you can succeed in spreading happiness to one other person, by giving a thoughtful gift, lending a hand, or doing a good deed, it will have a ripple effect, making more people happier too.

Our Partner - Trees for the Future

In line with our philosophy of carrying out small acts of kindness to create measurable change, we've partnered up with Trees for the Future, an organization who aims to revitalise degraded land, combat illegal logging and unsustainable land management systems, and in turn, empowering communities.

Since 1989 TREES has been working closely with farmers in more than 60 nations across Asia, Africa, and the Americas, providing them with tree seeds, technical training, information, and on-site planning assistance. Over the last 40 years, the organization has planted more than 180 million trees.

Hey Happiness donates a portion of the profit from each item we sell to TREES, helping to fund their plant initiative, and give hope to a generation of farmers and communities across the world.

How it works

Today, TREES focuses on working with farmers across Sub-Saharan Africa, implementing a method of farming called the Forest Garden Approach, where a typical farm is planted with 50+ species of trees, dozens of shrubs, fruit trees, and 12+ varieties of vegetables.

Over four years, the program teaches farmers how to plant trees to naturally bring nutrients back to the soil, about the benefits of diversifying crops, and how to optimize the long-term health and productivity of the land - and it's a program that is seeing profound results. Starting from the first year, the Forest Garden Approach not only increases farmers' income and access to food, it also improves the environment at the same time.

FAQ

For a while climate change has been a real concern for many people, and we ourselves feel the urge to help, even if it's in a very small way. We believe that instead of being concerned or being troubled by the problem the most effective action we can take is to start with small steps.

We want our customers to be able to enjoy our products and to have the joy of gifting beautifully made items to beloved ones without feeling guilty that more paper and more material were consumed in the process. Planting trees is a great way to offset the carbon consumption involved.

Also, nature has always been a source of inspiration for our own happiness and well-being, as well as our product design. What better way is there to create more happiness than having more forests on our planet?

You will be able to find detailed information about our contribution and impact on Trees for the Futures official website. You are also more than welcome to get in touch with members from the organization to verify any information mentioned on our website.

Trees for the Future is a verified and trusted non-profit organization that was founded in 1989 by Dave and Grace Deppner, who were volunteers in the Philippines in the early 1970s. Now, after almost three decades in the field, the organization works with over 3,000 different farming families, mostly in Sub-Saharan Africa and has planted over 155 million trees in dozens of countries. As a result, the initiative has revitalized hundreds of thousands of acres of degraded land while improving the lives of thousands of families.

As in our official promise “One tree planted for every product sold”, we have made a commitment to Trees for the Future to plant 1 tree for each and every item we sell. With our donations, Trees for the Future helps local farmers plant trees and give families the ability to make the transition from unsustainable farming techniques to a Forest Garden System.
